About Me: My Journey, My Purpose
I am Christopher Tru Hood—a visionary, a storyteller, a man of faith, and an artist who refuses to be placed in a box. My journey hasn’t been a straight path. It’s been filled with struggles, heartbreaks, and moments where I questioned whether I had the strength to keep going. But through it all, I’ve learned that purpose outweighs pain, and faith will always carry you through the darkest seasons of life.
I grew up surrounded by music, storytelling, and the kind of lessons that can only be taught through experience. My mother, Andrea Hood, and my grandmother, the late Ernestine Hood, instilled in me the values of resilience, integrity, and faith. My family has always been the cornerstone of my journey, shaping me into the man I am today. The influence of my cousin, Pastor Rory C. Hood, and my godmother, Pastor Gayle Williams, helped strengthen my spiritual foundation, reminding me that my gifts are meant for something bigger than myself.
Music has always been more than a passion—it’s been my lifeline. I’ve had the honor of working with gospel legends like Fred Hammond and Deitrick Haddon, and every song I create is a testament to my journey. Whether I’m singing about gratitude, faith, or love, my music is my way of speaking to the soul. But my artistry doesn’t stop at music.
Filmmaking and storytelling became another way for me to express my vision. Through Tru Hood Studio, LLC, I’ve built a brand that allows me to capture real stories, raw emotions, and powerful messages. Whether through photography, cinematography, or podcasting, I want my work to make people feel something—to inspire, to educate, and to uplift.
My journey hasn’t been easy. I’ve battled losses, setbacks, and moments where my dreams seemed out of reach. But I refuse to let obstacles define me. I am here to break barriers, build bridges, and create a legacy that stands the test of time. I am a mentor, a father, a husband, a son, and an entrepreneur with a mission: to use my God-given talents to inspire others.
This is my story. And I’m just getting started.
